Volleyball Drops CCS Quarterfinal Match At LaGrange
LAGRANGE, Ga. – Closing out their 2025 campaign on the road, Huntingdon volleyball came up short against LaGrange College Tuesday night, falling 3-0 to the Panthers.
The Hawks (17-18, 8-8 CCS) were led by junior Aly Harris, who finished with seven kills and four block assists, while senior A'Kirra McElveen added six kills and two total blocks on a team-best .600 hitting percentage. Morgan Suggs and Lily VanDyke each tallied seven kills apiece, while setter Molly Wilson posted 23 assists and nine digs. In spite of the Hawks best efforts, LaGrange was hot at the net all night, as the Panthers hit .287 as a team and produced 45 kills to secure their victory.
How it happened
LaGrange took control early behind an efficient first-set offense, hitting .429 with 14 kills en route to a 25-17 win. Huntingdon held a brief lead midway through the second, but a series of runs by the Panthers helped them pull away 25-18.
In the third set, the Hawks fought to extend the match, erasing a 14-9 deficit to come within one at 19-20, but LaGrange held on to put Huntingdon away, 25-23.
