SLIAC Releases 2025-26 Women's Wrestling Preseason Poll

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Entering the program's first season as part of the conference, Huntingdon Women's Wrestling has finished 5th in the 2025-2026 SLIAC Coaches Preseason Poll. 

The SLIAC welcomes in a pair of new programs to women's wrestling(Huntingdon and McMurry), giving the conference six programs that will compete for a conference championship at the end of the season. Even with the new additions it is two-time defending champion Schreiner University that sits atop the coach's preseason poll.

The Hawks picked up 9 points in the poll, returning two national qualifiers in Shelby Fugate (110) and Aniyah Griffin (180). They also boast regionally ranked Jordan Epstein (103), Chloe Parets (124), Angie Knepp (131), and Arie Bacon (160). The program welcomes in competitive freshmen Aniyah Baker, Brooke Madden, Alli Smith, and Nomaneta Iopu.

Catch Huntingdon Women's Wrestling in action for the first time this season on Saturday, November 1st at the SC Women's Wrestling Showcase.
