MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Closing out the regular season with a home doubleheader, Huntingdon Volleyball fell to Covenant in straight sets before rebounding with a sweep of Agnes Scott on Saturday afternoon inside Catherine Dixon Roland Arena. With the split, the Hawks move to 17–16 overall and 8–8 in CCS play.
Prior to the start of today's matches, Huntingdon recognized the 2025 Huntingdon Volleyball Senior Class for the contributions to the program, both on and off the court. This year's seniors are:
- Olivia Goodrich of Spanish Fort, Alabama
- Carryne Chancey of Enterprise, Alabama
- Aly Harris of Jacksonville, Alabama
- Molly Wilson of Jacksonville, Alabama
- Lindsey Holland of Athens, Alabama
- Alysa Bias of Freeburg, Illinois
Match one v. Covenant
Opening the day against the Scots, Huntingdon battled throughout but ultimately fell 3–0 to Covenant (25–21, 25–19, 25–20). The Hawks stayed within striking distance in each frame, but Covenant's strong offensive showing proved the difference, as the Scots hit .267 for the match and committed just ten attack errors. A'Kirra McElveen and Aly Harris led the way offensively, each totaling five kills, while Morgan Suggs added seven kills and a team-high eight points. Molly Wilson distributed 15 assists and recorded three service aces, with Kinsley Martin pacing the defense at seven digs.
Match two v. Agnes Scott
Bouncing back in the second match, Huntingdon turned in one of its most efficient outings of the season, sweeping Agnes Scott 3–0 (25–7, 25–12, 25–18). The Hawks set the tone early, hitting .550 in the opening set and maintaining control throughout the match while limiting the Scotties to a -.030 hitting percentage overall. Huntingdon finished the day with 16 service aces and 42 digs as a team. A'Kirra McElveen once again led the charge with nine kills on a .500 hitting clip, while Taylor Stewart added five kills and Maycie Black tallied six service aces. Setter Ayla Hart finished with 12 assists and one ace, and Gracie Wallace chipped in three more aces from the service line.
The Hawks close out their regular season on Saturday, November 8th at Oglethorpe University. Match time is set for 1:00 PM CT.
