WILMORE, Ky.- Traveling to Wilmore as the #6 seed, Huntingdon Women's Basketball's season came to an end Tuesday night with an 80-63 road loss at #3 seeded Asbury University in the first round of the Collegiate Conference of the South Tournament.
The Hawks (12-14, 9-7 CCS) fell behind early, surrendering 24 first-quarter points as Asbury used a flurry of three-pointers to build a double-digit lead. Huntingdon trimmed the margin to eight late in the second quarter and again battled within six in the third, but the hosts answered each push and pulled away in the fourth.
Charity Shaw led Huntingdon with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Deshauna Foote added 15 points and nine boards. Makayla Ford finished with 13 points, and the Hawks shot 33.8 percent from the field and 3-of-15 from beyond the arc.
Asbury shot 41.4 percent overall and knocked down 10 three-pointers, placing five players in double figures to seal the victory.
